COFFEE QUALITY GOES BY ELEVATION

Coffee Quality

goes by elevation

Same as climate and soil marks the wine taste, altitude determines coffee quality. In the world of coffee, there are two main species: Arabica and Robusta. Once roasted, they may look the same, but the exceptional conditions required for the Arabica to fully develop, gives to the final cup more pleasant flavor than robusta. Some of these special conditions are higher altitudes and lots of water, high himidity, rich and slightly acid soil. Few countries gather such tropical conditions in what is called the “Coffee Belt”. Within these countries, Colombia has priviliged position. It is not only located on the Andes Mountains, wich gives the perfect elevation to cultive arabica coffee, but it also has 15 volcanoes to nourish the soils with needed acidity. That is why the product you are purchasing is not just coffee
