El Quindío is not only the twelfth largest producer of Colombian coffee; it has also grown as an international tourist destination. This 1,845 km² region is located on the western hill of the Central Andes Mountain Range and just below the Quindío Volcano. The altitude where Quindío grows its coffee varieties from 6,217 feet above sea level to 4,600 feet. Its annual rainfall varies from 1,500 mm to 2,500 mm and its temperature rarely drops below 60 ° F and above 82 ° F. These characteristics, combined with the rich land of Quindío, result in delicate coffee flavors such as fruit and caramel fragrances.
